Many years ago, when we set up the meter reading system, we had less than 2,000 customers. Now we have over 3,600! In order to serve you better, we have changed when we read your meter. Effective November 1, 2000, we began to read your water meter on a different day. Each route was assigned a time period in which the meter will be read. Because some of you want to know when we read your meter, the following provides that information:
Your account number is located on the remittance/upper portion of your statement. The second two digits of your account number indicate the route you are in. For example, if your account number is 1-01-12345-67; then you are in route 01, and your meter will be read anytime between the 11th through the 14th working day of each odd month.
This table shows which working day we will read your meter.
|
YOUR ROUTE NUMBER |
YOUR METER READ DAY |
|
06, 08, 10 |
1st through the 5th |
|
02, 03, 07, 11 |
6th through the 10th |
|
01, 04, 05, 09 |
11th through the 14th |
The read days shown for each route number are not calendar days. They are working days, beginning at the first of the month.
All water meters will still be read each odd month and you will continue to receive your bill during the first week of each even numbered month.
Also keep in mind the wastewater winter averaging period: the District uses the lower usage during November 21st to January 20th or January 21st to March 20th.
