PROCEDURE TO ESTABLISH NEW RESIDENTIAL SERVICE
 

To establish service in your name, the District requires the following at least one day before effective start date: 

A signed Contract for Service
Non-refundable service fee of $50.00
Security Deposit refundable after one year of timely payments:

$200.00 (for customers in-district with wastewater)
$150.00 (for customers out of district with septic) 
$400.00 (for customers out of district with wastewater)  

The District offers both automatic bank drafting and automatic credit card drafting to customers for convenience of payments.  If a customer chooses to use either of those services at the time of establishing service, the security deposit listed above will be waived.  If either of these services is selected, the proper authorization form must also be returned along with the contract for service.  Please note that a voided check must also be sent for the bank drafting service. 

A deposit will not be required if a new customer presents a letter from another utility company on its letterhead stating satisfactory credit history for the previous year.

PROCEDURE FOR NEW CONSTRUCTION
 

The following is required by the District in order to set a water meter and begin receiving plumbing inspections: 

A signed Application for Service by builder or owner
A signed Plumbing Permit
A copy of the building permit issued by the City of Lakeway

Applicable fees:

Water and/or wastewater tap fees

$450 plumbing inspections (includes 10 inspections)

Security Deposit - refundable after one year of timely payments (if applicable):

                   $200.00 (for homes in district with wastewater) 
                   $150.00 (for homes out of district with septic) 
                   $400.00 (for homes out of district with wastewater)

Requests for installation of a water meter larger than a standard 5/8” must receive prior approval of the District’s General Manager.  After completing the above requirements, a water meter will be set within 3 business days and the water and/or wastewater account will be set up immediately.  This means that you will be charged water and/or wastewater base rates regardless if you are hooked into the system or not.
